More about our solo tours to Morocco
Stay in Marrakesh, an enchanting capital city with a rich history and architectural heritage. You can wander through its labyrinth of narrow streets, practice your bargaining skills in the stalls of the bustling markets (known as souks) and visit its famous landmarks. The iconic Jardin de Majorelle is one such landmark, originally designed by French artist Jean Majorelle, back in the 1920s. It's home to a beautiful botanical garden and museum with a collection of luxuriant plants and typical Moroccan architecture and its previous owners include the famed fashion designer, Yves Saint-Laurent. Another unmissable landmark is the Saadian Tombs, a royal necropolis dating back to the 16th century and one of the world's finest examples of Moorish architecture.
Forming an ever-present backdrop to the busy streets of Marrakesh are the Atlas Mountains. Embarking on a scenic drive through the saffron-covered foothills and higher into the wooded slopes - habitat for a diverse selection of wildlife: the Barbary macaque, Barbary leopard, Atlas Mountain viper, and (perhaps, less excitingly) the Barbary sheep. This is the perfect way to savour some of Morocco's most breathtaking scenery.
Outside of Marrakesh, there is also plenty to experience in Morocco, including Essaouira, a 15th-century coastal town with a rich and varied history - not to mention some incredible architecture Outside of Marrakesh, there is also plenty to experience in Morocco, including Essaouira, a 15th-century coastal town with a rich and varied history - not to mention some incredible architecture and local beaches. Be sure to try the local cuisine, with Moroccan food always packing a punch of bold flavours and aromatic spices thanks to its diverse set of influences, a fusion of Arab, Berber and Mediterranean culinary traditions. Our favourites include tagine, zaalouk, and the delicious khobz – a crusty wood-fired bread served with many meals.
And, of course, even as a solo traveller, you won't be experiencing this alone. You'll share this unforgettable experience with a group of like-minded explorers, our expert Riviera Tour Manager and friendly local guides. You'll never have to be alone unless you choose to be.
