Egypt is entombed with magic and mystery. And there’s no better way to experience its ancient wonders than cruising along the mystical River Nile.

A journey of intrigue awaits on a Nile river cruise. We will visit some of the world-famous landmarks you love, as well as some that only the locals know about. As we float effortlessly down the Nile, witness the infamous man-made statues untouched by time at Kom Ombo Temple, walk in the footsteps of pharaohs at Philae Temple of Isis, and marvel at Edfu Temple, one of the largest in Egypt.

FAQs

Yes, you will need a Visa to take part in one of our Nile river cruises. Please bear in mind that we cannot complete Visa applications on your behalf. Egypt is a predominantly Muslim country. As such, modest dress is appreciated. You should ensure that your shoulders and knees are covered. Due to the potential hot temperatures, it's a good idea to wear loose-fitting, breathable clothing made of linen or cotton. Given that we do visit some ancient historical sites that have uneven ground, it's also important to wear comfortable shoes.

Popular Egyptian dishes include shawarma (a dish featuring seasoned meat, usually chicken, lamb, or beef), koshari (made of rice, pasta, chickpeas, and lentils), and hawawshi (a stuffed meat sandwich made of ground beef or lamb). The food served onboard will provide you with Egyptian cuisine and flavours. However, we also provide other dining options to ensure we cater to everyone.

Yes, you can select a cabin category when booking one of our Nile cruises. However, you can't specify a specific cabin number when booking. You can request a cabin number, but we're unable to guarantee availability.

You should purchase travel insurance before going on a Riviera cruise. This will ensure you avoid spending thousands on any unexpected medical bills or on accidentally damaged or lost items.

When going on a River Nile cruise with Riviera, you should ensure you have the following documentation: your valid passport, the relevant travel Visa, travel insurance, and any potential health precautions (such as vaccinations). You can discuss whether you need a vaccine with your local GP or doctor.
