Siena
Explore the medieval city of Siena on a guided tour, then enjoy an aperitivo from a stunning viewpoint.

Following breakfast, we embark on a journey to the enchanting medieval city of Siena, which, during the 12th and 13th centuries, was among the largest and wealthiest cities globally, comparable in size to Paris! This era witnessed an extraordinary architectural boom, giving rise to numerous palaces, splendid townhouses, and public squares. The heart of the city, the Campo, is one of the most breathtaking squares you will ever encounter. Its unique half-moon shape is bordered by tall, historic buildings, each distinct yet collectively presenting a harmonious aesthetic. Taking a moment to sit here, enjoying a beverage, and pondering over the history that unfolds before you is truly delightful.
Siena's remarkable cathedral is regarded as one of Italy’s architectural treasures, constructed from striking black and white marble featuring some of the most detailed carvings, including works by the legendary Michelangelo. The intricate flooring is a revelation, composed of thousands of pieces of stone, creating a stunning inlaid design. While it impresses visitors today, a planned expansion in the 14th century would have rendered it the largest church in Christendom. The city experienced a significant decline following the Black Death, which has helped preserve its historical charm. Along the way, you’ll be treated to views of the famous Tuscan landscape, a truly picturesque region.
After the guided tour of Siena, take some time to relax and reflect on the remarkable sights of this stunning city while enjoying a refreshing local aperitif. Admire the distinctive medieval skyline and soak in the vibrant colours and lines of its captivating architecture from a beautiful viewpoint.

Florence & the Uffizi Gallery
Embark on a guided tour of Florence, before visiting the Uffizi Gallery - home to artistic masterpieces.

Florence
Today, we explore Florence, the jewel of the Renaissance, a stunning and captivating city that has rightfully attracted travellers since the era of the Grand Tour. In a small group of your fellow travellers along with a local guide we’ll visit key landmarks, including the iconic Cathedral, which can accommodate 10,000 worshippers and features the largest brick dome ever constructed.
The Uffizi Gallery
In the afternoon, we'll have an exclusive visit to the Uffizi Gallery, with all entrance fees covered. This renowned museum is home to one of the most significant collections of art in the world. Here, you'll find masterpieces by titans such as Botticelli, Raphael, Leonardo da Vinci, Titian, Caravaggio, and Michelangelo—just to name a few. Yet, Florence offers more than just art; it is a vibrant city filled with charming shops and lively markets that beautifully enhance its artistic heritage.

Arezzo
Explore the enchanting town of Arezzo on a guided walking tour, before enjoying some free time.

Arezzo is a captivating historic town, cloistered behind its formidable stone fortifications for centuries and largely escaping the attention of tourists. During our morning walking tour, we set off in a small group, to uncover the intriguing tales behind the many stunning vistas found in Arezzo’s ancient centre. Like other locations on this journey, Arezzo thrived during the medieval era and came under Medici control in the 15th century. The town showcases a variety of architectural styles that harmoniously blend, featuring Romanesque churches paired with timber-framed shops, all connected by quaint, cobblestoned squares. The iconic Piazza Grande, flanked by slender multi-story structures and featuring a sharply inclined pavement, stands as one of the most atmospheric squares in Europe. Inside the Basilica di San Francesco, you can find breathtaking frescoes depicting the Legends of the True Cross by the renowned Piero della Francesca.
Free time
In the afternoon, you can wander through the city at your own pace or unwind in one of the local cafés, as you watch the world go by.

Assisi
Bid farewell to Tuscany as we head to Assisi for a guided tour, then we arrive in Rome in time for dinner.

Stay at Golden Tulip Piram
Today, we depart from Tuscany after enjoying breakfast and head to Assisi for a guided tour in smaller groups with a local guide. This charming medieval village, adorned with vibrant flowers and boasting picturesque views of the Umbrian landscape, is renowned for one significant historical figure - Saint Francis, Italy's most venerated saint. Saint Francis was an exceptional character in the history of the Italian church. He grew up in wealth, initially leading a life contrary to Christian values, but during a period of captivity, he experienced a divine revelation. Upon his release, he chose to reject his wealth, adopting a life of humility and associating with the marginalised, eventually establishing the Franciscan order of monks. Just two years after his passing, a magnificent basilica was erected, funded by contributions from across Europe, making it one of the most stunning shrines in Christianity, filled with what many consider the finest collection of art outside a museum. The structure consists of two churches, one situated atop the other, with Saint Francis resting in the crypt below. Inside, a serene atmosphere prevails, reflecting the principles of the Franciscans, where silence is observed and simplicity reigns near the saint's tomb, attended by monks in brown robes.
Rome
In the afternoon after time to explore Assisi at leisure, we will make our way to Rome, our second and final stop of the tour. Our accommodation in Rome will be at the comfortable four-star Golden Tulip Piram Hotel, where we'll have breakfast included. Tonight, we'll dine at a charming local restaurant.

Rome & Tivoli
Discover why Rome is so universally loved as you take a guided tour, and visit the historic town of Tivoli.

Rome
Rome stands as one of the most intriguing cities in the world, where the ancient meets the contemporary in a stunning fusion. This morning, in a small group, we embark on a guided tour with an expert local guide that will showcase numerous iconic sights and attractions, including the Spanish Steps, Pantheon, and Trevi Fountain - just to name a few. It’s hard to find another place on the earth with such a concentration of history within a compact area. Much of this grandeur can be traced back to the Roman Empire, which dominated vast territories for nearly five centuries, followed by a significant influence from the Papacy, which wielded considerable political power alongside its religious authority. The wealth that poured into the city during the Renaissance and subsequent periods has resulted in the plethora of remarkable sites you can enjoy today. However, Rome offers more than just impressive architecture and artwork; it boasts tranquil spots, quaint little squares, charming cafes, and intimate eateries where friendly waitstaff are always up for a chat. All of these elements contribute to the distinctive character of Rome.
Tivoli
In the afternoon, we’ll head to the historic town of Tivoli, located just a short distance from Rome. Here, you have the choice between exploring either the Renaissance masterpiece of Villa d’Este or the ancient ruins of Hadrian’s Villa (Villa Adriana). Villa d’Este, a 16th-century estate, is renowned for its beautifully terraced Italian Renaissance gardens, particularly noted for its stunning array of fountains.
On the other hand, Hadrian's Villa - recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site - features an expansive Roman archaeological site filled with temples, theatres, and sculptures. Commissioned by Emperor Hadrian, this villa complex is a monumental testament to the opulence and vast reach of Ancient Rome, still mesmerising visitors today.

Castel Sant Angelo and free afternoon in Rome
Discover the fascinating history of Castel Sant'Angelo, then explore Rome at your own pace with a free afternoon.

Today, we’ll begin our adventure with a trip to Castel Sant'Angelo, just a short walk from St. Peter's Basilica. Initially constructed as the burial site for Emperor Hadrian, it has since evolved into an intriguing museum. The castle's history is marked by dramatic events, including the escape of popes, hidden tunnels, and harrowing executions in its medieval dungeons. As you wander through its halls, you'll encounter a variety of art pieces, military artefacts, and stunning Renaissance architecture.
Thanks to our special tickets, we can bypass the queues and explore Castel Sant'Angelo at our own pace. Enjoy the rich history, admire the art on display, or take in breathtaking views of Rome from the rooftop.
The afternoon is yours to spend at your leisure in Rome. You could relax with a coffee at one of the charming cafes near the Pantheon, soaking in the lively atmosphere as the world passes by. Wander through the winding cobblestone streets, explore the local shops for unique souvenirs, or indulge in delicious gelato while admiring the magnificent Trevi Fountain.
This evening, we’ll partake in one of Rome’s most-treasured pre-dinner rituals – the aperitivo. Stroll through the city enjoying a light drink paired with delicious nibbles, such as salami and cheeseboards, olives, chips or speciality pizzas, arancini or Rome's most famous pastry, the Maritozzo – a round cracker with a texture similar to a bread stick.
