Travel solo, yet never alone

The Riviera holiday begins from your departure point

The Tour Manager will meet you at the airport (or Eurostar station), check in and travel there with you. Where this isn’t possible, a Riviera team member will greet you at the airport, help you check in and introduce you to other members in the group.

Less is more with small group sizes

The maximum group size of our solo tours is just 25 people. This gives a more intimate and personalised experience. For ocean and river cruising, it depends on your ship size. Our yacht cruises having a maximum of just 19 cabins, so just 19 guests!

More about our solo tours to Sri Lanka

Known as the "Pearl of the Indian Ocean", Sri Lanka is blessed with pristine beaches, lush rainforests, and rolling hills punctuated by ancient ruins and tea plantations. It's a biodiversity hotspot with native plants and animal species that don't exist anywhere else on Earth. In Yala National Park, you'll experience the life-affirming sound of the dawn chorus while getting ready to spot leopards, elephants, deer, water buffalo, saltwater crocodiles, wild boar, sloth bears, monitor lizards and a variety of birdlife on a guided tour and game drive through the park. And, if you love elephants, our visit to the Elephant Transit Home - a centre that rehabilitates and releases elephants back into the wild - will be a real highlight of the trip.

The country's cultural heritage dates back thousands of years, weaving influences from Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam and Christianity - and Sri Lanka has been colonised three times, leaving behind a legacy of Portuguese, Dutch and British influence still evident today. There are many ancient sites to discover, including eight UNESCO World Heritage Sites like the Ancient City of Sigiriya, also called 'Lion Rock', a rock fortress and palace constructed by the 5th century King Kasyapa. As you climb the step to this hilltop fortress, the enormous lion forms its gateway - the perfect introduction to these magnificent ruins - and as you explore, you'll spot the remnants of colourful frescos and centuries-old graffiti. Another UNESCO-listed site is the 1st-century cave temples of Dambulla, a series of five caves set in a granite outcrop home to preserved frescos and over 150 Buddhist statues.

Together, we'll explore all this and more - while still leaving plenty of time to relax by a palm-shaded beach and pool - on a solo tour of Sri Lanka. This holiday is ideal for explorers who want to travel solo, yet never alone (unless you want to be). Get to know your fellow travellers over welcome drinks hosted by your expert Tour Manager and during excursions and spend your free time as you please - relaxing in the hotel, exploring independently or with others.
